Alexander Fleming was not a man to seek glory, although he did manage to achieve it when he won the Nobel Prize in 1945. The scientific world may have taken longer to discover the truth about the mold, since many other scientists had also been researching the same. But it was Fleming’s insightful observation that gave the world a new drug that helped many thousands of patients get treatment for otherwise deadly infections!
